Community Builder

Cantor Young spent a Shabbat with our congregation and was truly amazing.  She worked with our lay leaders and clergy to not only prepare for our worship experience that weekend but also to get us thinking about how we can use music in the future to facilitate spiritual growth, community building and experiential Judaism.  During services, she encouraged participation while allowing the congregation to have the full benefit of her beautiful voice, guitar and piano accompaniment.  Our congregation has been singing Cantor Young’s tunes as if they were ‘mi Sinai’ for years, and they were so inspired to hear her live.
Cantor Young managed to personally touch so many people in her short time with us; it was so worthwhile to have her at our congregation.

Fresh Sound

Cantor Young is a breath of fresh air! Her artist-in-residence Shabbat with our congregation was a special and meaningful time from start to finish. Cantor Young's voice and presence are a rare combination of power and accessibility. We were moved by every prayerful song--and found ourselves singing along with the familiar and the new. Her voice is gorgeous and her sound fresh. Cantor Young is a star in her generation. We look forward to hosting her again in the future!

We recently welcomed Cantor Natalie Young and her musical gifts to our synagogue. It was a truly wonderful experience and we found her very easy to work with. Cantor Young's music is gorgeous and our choir and congregation really enjoyed learning and singing it. The Friday night Shabbat service was very beautiful and uplifting. Natalie's Monday night program,
exploring how contemporary musicians are taking ancient words and making them relevant for a new generation, was also very interesting and enlightening. Additionally, Cantor Young lead a helpful conversation discussing the continuity of music in our various temple programs. What was greatly appreciated by all of us was Cantor Young's warmth and generosity of spirit, her respect and acknowledgement of those in our community who were participating with her, and her humble and gracious attitude overall. Very refreshing!

Spiritual and Engaging

Temple Sinai, Atlanta, was blessed to have the incredibly talented Cantor Natalie Young as a part of our Shabbat services. That she is an excellent performer of sacred liturgy is evident right away, as she blends the timelessness of text with accessible music and vocal harmony. That she is a profoundly spiritual composer was also established early in the service, as her own melodies introduced Shabbat and, with a few exceptions to include familiar traditional pieces, carried us through a truly moving Shabbat service. She is also fun and funny, engaging a congregation in the sacred that comes from a smile, and encouraging even our most hardened and steadfast members to rise from their seats, clap along, and learn new music. She has earned a place in the hearts of our congregational family and we are most certainly delighted that she shared her gifts with us. "

Accessible and Inviting

We were delighted to host Natalie Young for a weekend, including two Shabbat services and a concert.  Her music is accessible and inviting, and her warmth and passion for Jewish music and liturgy is evident to all.   Natalie brings an energy and passion to her songleading and her performance.  Whether teaching her own creative compositions, or leading services or a concert that includes other popular Jewish music, it is clear that Natalie is an exciting new force in contemporary Jewish music, who enriched us deeply and touched us and lifted us up with her love of Jewish music.

Cantor Natalie Young energized our Shabbat morning experience.  Her compositions are accessible, melodic and approachable.  Cantor Young worked beautifully with our adult volunteer choir, fine tuning everything in her own unique gentle way prior to the service.  She was engaging to the congregation.  Cantor Young is a breathe of fresh air for every congregation searching for meaning and artistry in liturgical texts.  It was a treat for us all and we look forward to her next visit.
